tl;dr: I bought KuJayhawk.com (you might be here by mistake looking for kujayhawks.com). I want to build something valuable for the KU community with it but need your ideas on what that should be. Email suggestions to hi@kujayhawk.com or comment below this post!
…
Fellow Jayhawks, Rock Chalk!
Like many entrepreneurs – and perhaps a few fellow alums reading this – I have a bit of a habit: collecting domain names that spark an idea or just seem too good to pass up.
When KuJayhawk.com surfaced in the GoDaddy expired domain auctions, it definitely fell into the ‘too good to pass up’ category for this Jayhawk.
Now, let’s be honest. If you landed here, there’s a decent chance you were actually looking for the official KU Athletics site (kujayhawks.com – note the ‘s’ at the end!) and your fingers missed a key. Welcome anyway! Stick around for a second, because you’ve stumbled onto something a bit different.
A great domain without a purpose is just digital real estate sitting vacant, and that brings us to why you’re seeing this message instead of the latest scores or ticket info.
As an entrepreneur at heart this domain feels too valuable to just sit on.
I want to build something valuable for the KU community with KuJayhawk.com, but I’m convinced the best starting point isn’t just my own assumptions. It’s tapping into the collective brainpower and needs of the Jayhawk Nation itself – including those of you who might have arrived by accident!
So, consider this an open invitation, a Request for Ideas:
What should we build here?
I’ve mulled over a couple of possibilities:
The Jayhawk Career Connector
A targeted job board wasn’t my first thought, but the potential value is clear. Imagine easily connecting alumni looking to hire talent with sharp students ready to launch their careers, or fellow alums seeking their next move. Keeping it all within the KU family seems powerful.
A Dynamic KU Content Hub
Beyond the official channels, could we create a go-to spot for engaging stories, alumni spotlights, historical tidbits, maybe even spirited debate about the latest game or campus news? A true community-driven content site.
These are just launch points, though. The real question is, what does the community actually need or want? What’s missing? Where’s the opportunity for this specific domain?
- A better platform for alumni mentorship connections?
- A slick directory of Jayhawk-founded businesses?
- Something entirely different focused on innovation coming out of KU?
- A modern space for community discussion?
- This is where the entrepreneurial drive meets community input. I have the energy to build something – but I want to build the right thing for KuJayhawk.com.
- Should I just cash in with ads?
So, lay it on me. What are your ideas?

Don’t hold back. Big ideas, niche concepts, practical applications – I’m eager to hear what you think could make KuJayhawk.com an indispensable resource (or maybe just a really interesting stop) for Jayhawks everywhere.
Let’s figure out what this domain is meant to be. Thanks for lending your brainpower, whether you meant to stop by or not!
